This book sucked me in right away, and I knew that a book written by Ker Dukey, the queen of "Dark Erotica" would do exactly that.. I thought I was prepared. I was wrong.

I instantly connected with Alex and Dalton, "Ten"... and felt every shred of pain along the way when they first saw each other again. The flashbacks were perfectly placed and really let me know the characters.

As I was reading, I was in love with the story, but I felt that it wasn't really "dark", almost romantic... how wrong I was. In true Ker Dukey style, she hit me in the gut and made me gasp... several times. I actually had to put the book down, and breathe.

I read almost the entire book in one setting, had to put it down, and all I could think about was what was going to happen next. I *love* when a book can do that to me. Pull me in and make me a part of it.

Alex and Dalton are soulmates. Two halves of a whole. They only shine when they are close to each other, separate them and it's like turning a bulb down to half wattage. They crave each other; body, mind, and soul.

But there's also hate. Crippling unbelievable hate.

Dalton was sent to prison for 10 years, after being set up by Alex's brother, Jonah. And he knew that Alex helped set him up. And that set *him* up for a thirst for revenge.

After Dalton gets out of prison, he becomes the man, the Moore, that he always swore he'd never be. He's in the family business, worse yet, he's *head* of the family business. And he want's Jonah.

Alex's father dies, and that brings her back to town. To her childhood home, which is right across the street from Dalton's childhood home.

Alex's welcome home is anything but warm and fuzzy, and she doesn't understand why. Why wouldn't Dalton read her letters all those years ago, why doesn't he love her any more, and why does he look at her with such murderous rage. None of it makes sense to her.

"We will always be two hearts with one beat, two minds with one thought."

The memories that are shared via flashbacks, made me feel so sorry for the loss of such an innocent love.

Secondary characters:
Six... I think I'm a little bit in love with him too, and I'm looking *SO* forward to his story coming out next!

Lisa. OMG! Rage! That is all I feel for her. I wanted to just reach through my Kindle and choke her. I hope we find out more about her character in the next book.

This is definately a series that I'll continue!

Strangest book I believe I've ever read! It was good, but it was strange!

Evie is - Crazy. Insane. Psychotic. Certifiable. Just to name a few.

And then there's.. Ezra - Mad. Nuts. Demented. Deranged... but protective, in his own way of his "little killer".

I don't know which character was crazier. But, crazy was their normal, and they made crazy work.

A lot of this book, we were inside Evie's head, just us and her inner monologue, which seemed to be even crazier than she was! There was a lot of sin, sinning, sinners, and forgiveness. At times it was hard to know which was which.

The book has a fantastically dark, (yes even darker than the rest of the book), twist, one I didn't see coming, and one that made the whole book worth it.

Not even sure what I just read. It was like some guy, Beast, playing at being a dominant and a bad ass biker. It seemed to me that the only way he could get to Bridget was to hold his, and the club's, protection over her head. Fuck me; Submit to me; Suck my dick; if you want my protection.

By 45% I was ready to DNF this book. Forty-five percent! Up to that point it was sex, sex, and more sex. Don't get me wrong, I love sex in my books, but this just wasn't believable in the least, and I didn't get the warm fuzzies from it. But I figured I needed to keep going to at *least* get to the damn story. Where was Rafe? Was there going to be a showdown? Was I *ever* going to find out?

Bridget, what a weak woman. I could not feel sorry for her. She was naive, and weak. She looks at herself in the mirror and doesn't recognize the woman she's become. Her ex changed everything about her, her hair, her clothes, etc. And here she is, changing just as quick as she can for Beast.

Beast's "inner" monologue was much better than when he opened his mouth. And of course, we have to have a male character with an 11" penis. Really? Realistic much?

Soon after he's spanked her with a belt, had her in every position imaginable, completely turned her into his "submissive" to his wonderful "Dominant" side, he's changing her. Wanting her to be his "slut". Even though, for one moment she denies it, it's too late, he's already done it; changed her into something he wanted. She has no backbone.

But I do want to give her props for taking all 11" of Beast.. *anally*.

If the author(s) think this is what Dominance and Submission is all about, they are terribly, terribly mistaken. Either you have it in the book and do it right, or don't attempt it.

Beast and Bridget are step siblings. The last time they saw each other she was 14 and he was 18. They have not seen or spoken to each other in 20 years. She goes to him for help, her ex, who is in the mafia, is looking for her and means to kill her because of something she's seen. Beast is the only person she knows to turn to for help, even though they didn't leave things on a very good note when he left to join an MC and she and her parents moved away.

And what does Beast do? He tells her that he'll help her "for a price". How nice. But, at this point, she'll do anything to save her life. Even give up her body to Beast and all his brothers. Beast takes full advantage of her and her naiveté.

Beast goes on and on about how she played center stage in all his sexual fantasies. Ummm. Dude, when you saw her last she was FOURTEEN! One line that turned me off immediately.. "I want to fuck your pussy and fill you with my spunk." Said the same day they meet after 20 years. And seriously? Who says "spunk" anymore?

Okay, so I was wrong about Beast's inner monologue...

"He kind of liked the thought of a little fight where she only wore her underwear and was forced to fight the other bitches for his dick."

Yeah, Beast is kind of a douche.

Finally, finally.. at chapter 11 we start to see some discussion about Rafe and what the club is going to do!!

It lasts for less than a couple pages and we're back to sex.

It does pick up again around 70%. We do get to see Beast when he isn't a complete dick. But Bridget is still a hot mess. But she's his hot mess, and I can't think of two people more deserving of each other.

I know, from just the few snippets we get, that Beast, in his own way, really does care for Bridget, and we do finally get to see that, but not until it's too far into the story to care.

I like these authors and have read other books they've written, but they totally missed it with this one.

This is a tough one. The blurb drew me in, it put me in the mind of The Reluctant Dom by Tymber Dalton, but the book turned out to be *nothing* like that book, or this blurb for that matter.

"So, my sweet kitten, I've taken this out of your hands. You will need to serve. It's who you are. The decision is mine."

Calico's Master, Markus, saved her from the street, trained her well, and she was the perfect slave for him. Markus gets sick, and dies, we don't know what from, but we know that Cali is alone now.

"... she was all loose ends and heartbreak without him. What was a slave to do when there was no one to care for?"

But, even in death, Markus still has his hand on the top of his slave's head and guiding her path in life. What he does for her is so loving and so sweet.

And then...

"Ya' know, I've jerked off so many times with your surrender in mind, making you come until I feel the flood soaking my balls."

And then there is Derrick.

Well the *premise* of his idea was sweet.. until we meet Derrick. This character, he was just creepy. He sounded, and acted like a 20 year old virgin who couldn't wait to have sex. I can't, for the life of me, understand why Markus would choose someone like Derrick to help Calico. Yes, Markus and Derrick were best friends, and yes, Derrick is a Dominant. But beyond that, I just don't see why the choice was Derrick.

Marcus' letters, that arrived at particular times for Calico, were sweet, and firm. Letting her know what she was to do, and that he'd always be there with her. His words seemed to be that of a Master truly caring for his slave. His words were eloquent and sincere. So when Derrick comes into the picture, via Skype and in person, it was kind of a shock to the system.

This would have been a much better read if Derrick were more realistic, and less, what felt like to me, insecure.

Editing seemed to be a bit of a problem in this book also. Italics, when Marcus' letters were being read, or he was speaking in Calico's mind, were very helpful, it was the forgetting to *turn off* the Italics at times that caused a bit of confusion.

I don't imagine I'll be continuing with this series.

I'm not even sure what I just read. There were parts of it, that actually grabbed my attention, only to stop short and fall flat.

The whole "book", (term used loosely), was nothing but trying to figure out who was cheating who, and who was about to die.

My thoughts on this book? Not much. The characters made no sense, and the plot had more holes than Swiss Cheese. There were areas that showed promise, that could be used to build off of and would make a semi-decent plot. But they passed quickly.

The author sure didn't have much "time for dat", that's for sure! The first story ended, just stopped. Didn't even have a period after the last word.

The author states, in the book blurb, that she's the queen of dark erotica. This was nothing more than a slasher book with rough sex thrown in so it could be called "erotica".

What a ride!! This series just gets better and better with each book! And I love that each book has all of the characters that we've come to know and love.

Crystal meets Wolf at an Evil Dead party she attends with her boyfriend, and her best friend.. said boyfriend's sister. After her jerk boyfriend starts some trouble and Crystal is left behind, Wolf takes her home.

 

"She loved everything about the way he was with her, the way he let that animal inside him out when they were together, turning all dominant; an alpha taking its mate. His name was so appropriate. He was a wolf."

One look at Wolf and she's done. She's gone. Head over heels for the sexy man in the Evil Dead cut. And Wolf is just as stunned by Crystal, she's not the usual girl he sees in his clubhouse, and it's an instant attraction. But instead of giving into that attraction and seeing where it could lead, he just jerks her around. Uses her and walks out, time and time again.

It takes a lot to make Crystal finally see that Wolf is never going to commit, and she finally has enough of waking up alone, seeing him with other women; loving a man that will never love her in return.

"Now he just needed to figure out just how brave he was. Brave enough to go after her or brave enough to live the rest of his life without her?"

Will Wolf *ever* be able to step up and do right by Crystal? Will Crystal ever let the walls around her heart down enough to let him back in?

Lots of twists and turns in this one and just when you think all is going their way, the author throws in more twists.

I really do love this series, and looking forward to reading the next book, Ghost. The best thing is there are plenty more characters to build off of that I'd love to read about!
