Uncovering You 2: Submission

Uncovering You 2: Submission (Uncovering You, #2)Uncovering You 2: Submission by Scarlett Edwards
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Uncovering You 1: The Contract left us in a cliffhanger that is picked up in book 2. Lilly has signed the contract, for self preservation sake, and has come face to face with "JS".

Her circle has widened, and she has more freedom in the house in which she's enslaved, but the fact is, she's still enslaved. She sets her mind on revenge, but knows that in order to survive she must "play the game".

This one ended in another cliffhanger, but the author's books come out fairly quickly, so that's a good thing. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens to Lilly. Can she get free? Does she get broken?

My only wish would be that these books were longer, or maybe the whole story broken into a couple of books, but I do find the author's way of keeping the suspense growing, as each book comes out, a different take on things. Like each book is a chapter in the story.

Quick read for morning coffee or a lunch break, and well worth the time.

Another solid 4 stars.

Review - Uncovering You: The Contract

Uncovering You: The Contract (Uncovering You, #1)Uncovering You: The Contract by Scarlett Edwards

This book came by way of recommendation on my group, and I'm glad I gave it a read.

It had suspense, a bit of take my breath away fear factor and a strong female character along with a sadistic male lead, all good things in my book!

I was a bit confused with the back and forth in time at first, but soon caught on and enjoyed that aspect.

This was a good story that was a quick read that I read with my morning coffee in a couple hours. I'm looking forward to seeing where this story line goes, and if it turns into a bit darker non-con as each books comes out.

**I was offered an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.**

This was the first book for me by this author, and I was so glad she found, and offered it to me as I enjoyed it very much. It was different from other "Dark BDSM" books I've read. I wouldn't actually consider this "Dark" in the context I'm used to reading, more of a lighter version of dark... or a tad bit darker than vanilla. The sex was good, but still just a darker vanilla. More like a "dark romance" I like dirty, gritty, hardcore, dark non-con usually.

But, this *was* a good book and it grabbed and held my interest from the beginning straight through to the end.

It was well written, plausible and definitely a new spin on non-con. If you don't like to read the really dark, hardcore, non-con, than this book could be for you it's a good compromise, and a good gateway book if you'd like to take an easy step towards the dark side.

Solid 4 Star read.

Review: Broken Toy

Broken Toy
Broken Toy by Tymber Dalton

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I found this to be an interesting story, but for *me*, not one of the best in this series.

I felt it drug on too long, I started getting bored a bit with it and the characters. However, it wasn't the worst book i've read either. It had it's really good parts too, the build up to the relationship, the character building, and I enjoyed seeing a lot of the characters from past books playing such a major, but not overpowering, role in the story.

I was surprised at the "Daddy" turn of events, and it wasn't a believable turn either. It was out of left field and when she first called him "Daddy", there was really no reaction from him. It took a while before there was any sort of explanation/reaction. I just didn't see Gabe as a little or babygirl.

The use of "Good girl", "very good girl", "very, very good girl" started grating on my nerves, it was WAY overused. It took away the real meaning of "good girl" for me.

This was more of a love story. Not bad, just too long.
