To others our story would read as some insane horror story about a couple of disturbed and delusional people and not the love tale that it was, but that’s all right.

This book was quite a surprise, i've read Terry Tower's books before, and always enjoyed them. I didn't know about this one until it popped up on my Amazon as a recommended read. Thank you Amazon!

This book sucked me right in from the beginning, and while I felt that Tanner could have ended up as a stronger character I understood that sometimes love does conquer all. As it was in the case of this book.

It was a bit difficult to wrap my head around the Christian overtones in this book, with a dark erotica, but I do think that Ms. Towers pulled it all together nicely.

Emily was a pastor's daughter, and was raised by Proverbs 31 -- that she should be a woman of virtue and humility, eager to be a dutiful wife and mother. Meeting Tanner threw all those beliefs out the window. She was to be his slave and his whore. A role that was completely out of her element...but at the same time, there was something about it, with Tanner, that made her crave it.

Tanner starts out as a very dark character, but slowly, over time, he seems to sink into Emily's web instead of the other way around. No, he doesn't turn into a born again Christian, but he is able to give Emily what she needs and craves, even if Emily didn't know she wanted those things herself.

This book is dark, but there is a light, albeit dim, that starts to shine. For me this was a page turner. It was twisted with a lot of surprises. I love that in a book!!

5 *Twisted me up* Stars

I don't even know how to begin to review this one! It's a total mindfuck! It turns and twists and never lets you see what's coming around the next corner. It's dark, tortured, and even heartbreaking at times, and I wouldn't trade a single minute of this read. The only thing I wish is that I could go back and read it for the first time all over again.

Sam finds Melody, a slave who has managed to escape a living hell with evil, vile and sadistic Masters, washed up on a beach close by. He takes her in and cares for her. When she wakes up, she remembers nothing, just bits and pieces, and she's lost the ability to speak.

But what Melody does seem to remember is her training, not many specifics, mainly that she's suppose to "please her Master" at all costs... and she believes that Sam is her new Master. She does everything she can to please him, but he rejects her. Not because he doesn't want her, but because Sam has his own dark secrets and a slave girl is the last thing he needs. Has Melody only managed to trade one evil hell for one far worse? Can she escape a second time? Where will she go? Where will she hide?

This is by far my favorite book that I've read recently by Skye Warren. I couldn't put it down! She does know how to spin a dark erotic story!

3 *Crazy Ass People!* Stars

I'm not really sure what to say about this book. I struggled for the first 25%, then it did pick up for me. By the end of it, I was really just ready for it to be over.

And it ended in a cliffhanger.

Really? This book could have totally been wrapped up start to finish in one book.. and in less pages than this one was.

Elliot was just a nutcase. A totally whacked out nutjob. But I have to give it to him, he knew what he wanted, and nothing stopped him from going after it. He was a man of patience when it came to Joan.

He was obsessed. He truly believed that he was in love with Joan, and tried to make her believe she was in love with him.

Joan was an even bigger nutcase! Elliot kidnapped her, raped her, beat her, and wasn't the least bit kind to her. But she kept making herself available for more. One minute she hated him and wanted him dead, the next she was more than just a little turned on by just the thought of him. Her selfishness and indecision; flip flopping around like a fish out of water, caused pain and anguish to almost everyone in her life in some fashion.

This book had it's moments too, of really keeping me on the edge of my seat, there were parts that were dark and pretty scary, wondering what was going to happen next. The sex was dark and graphic, which usually I love, but it went on and on. I found myself skimming a lot of the sex scenes to get to the really good stuff. But it was those "edge of my seat" moments that bumps this book up to a 3 Star rating.

What did I think about this book? That's a really good question.

This book caught my interest from page one. Paragraph one. Word one. And it didn't turn me loose until I finished it.

It was the perfect dark and twisted read, never knowing which way Roman was going to jump at any given time. Never knowing how Heather was going to respond to those swinging mood changes, kept me on the edge of my seat.

Roman makes Satan look like a schoolyard chump. He's evil personified and he makes no excuses for it. Even warns us of this fact at the beginning of this book, and numerous times through out.

I hated loving Heather at times almost as much as I hated loving Roman. She drove me bonkers with her ever changing feelings, but I'm pretty sure that Roman was someone she hated to love almost as much as she hated herself for loving him.

This book is a total mind fuck.. and I loved it! Can't wait to read the second book in this series!

Review: Enslaved

Enslaved by Claire Thompson

Twisted, but not dark enough to feed my kink of true non-con. Claire Thompson is one of my favorite authors and I usually enjoy her twisted, dark, taboo stories, but this just didn't do it for me in the way her other non-con's have.

Still a pretty good story, but just not as dark as the blurb sets it up to be.

I've had this book on my Kindle and on my TBR for quite a while, and thanks to a reading challenge on The Erogenous Zone, I finally tapped the glass on the front of my Kindle and started reading. And I didn't stop. Except when I absolutely had to. This book captured me in the first few pages and it didn't turn me loose.

Told from a dual point of view between Stephan and Brianna (Anna), the story unfolds quickly, but not so quickly as to feel rushed.

Stephan's friend contacts him about a girl that is enslaved to another Dom, but he feels that she isn't happy, and hints at the idea she may not be there of her own free will. This piques Stephan's interest. The caring part of his Dominant side that demands that he protect a submissive, any submissive. Stephan's friend came to him because he knew that he could afford to "buy" her in order to help her.

The man Brianna is with at that point, Ian, is a cruel and heartless bastard. Not the kind of man that should own a guppy, much less a beautiful submissive. He has broken her so severely that she may never be anything but broken ever again.

Brianna is young and for the last 10 months all she's known is cruelty and constant abuse. She is scared and scarred, beaten and broken. And she doesn't trust any man, not even the kind Dominant, Stephan. All she is waiting for is the other shoe to drop. Figuring that the time will come when he will beat and abuse her too.

Stephan is a kind and patient, and he cares about Brianna. He wants to help her, not enslave her but he also knows that, at first, she *needs* to be enslaved then slowly build the trust and take her from the wrong kind, the demented monstrous kind of slavery to the loving and gentle kind, then let her decide what is right for her.

Which will she choose, a loving D/s relationship with Stephan, or her freedom? You might be surprised.
