Review: The Sect

The Sect
The Sect by Courtney Lane

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

*****4 Total Mind Blowing Stars*****

Writing: ★★★★
Story: ★★★★
Characters: ★★★★-1/2

Overall rating: 4.1

Keyton is a woman with a terrible past with a man that wants to take away her future. She runs from a life of wealth and privilege to live, hiding in plain sight, on the mean streets of D.C.

She knew Jeff because she spent time with him every day during her lunch hours before she left home. Jeff is a homeless Vietnam Vet who becomes Keaton's protector and teacher on those streets. Jeff teaches her how to survive by making herself look like a boy and act like a mute to keep from giving herself away, how to become a pickpocket, and how to hide in plain sight even when those that are looking for her are just a few feet from her.

Keaton really had it rough at every turn in this book. She is running from her home and parents she loves to live on the streets, which she thought would be better than living where her monster of an ex-boyfriend could get to her. She is truly a lost and broken soul. This character made you want to protect her, see her protected, and shake her all at once to make her go home. But she felt that no matter how much money her family had, the monster from her past had more.

Then one day in a soup kitchen, she sees Noah, he's a handsome man, and he's looking at her. The way he looks at her elicits something in Keaton like she's never felt before. Jeff tries to warn her not to talk to them, but Keaton thinks she knows better.

Noah works for Reven, who helps the homeless by offering them "true freedom". She listens to what he has to say, but politely declines his offer. But it's too late, she is drugged and taken to "The House of Rebirth", where she finds that Reven is the leader of a "religious" cult… where "religion" is actually the worship of the narcissistic Reven and all he holds sacred, and what he holds sacred is sexual and sadistic. There is always a torturous punishment for those that do not follow Reven's rules. Some of the punishments actually made me lay the book aside to catch my breath! They could be tough to read, and Noah is the one that actually does most of the punishments.

I didn't even know what to feel about Noah. He was one I loved to hate… and really hated to even like. Noah, to me, was like an "Enforcer", a giant, pissed off, cruel, man with something… and nothing… to prove. He was a character I hated seeing come through the door of Keaton's room, and one I couldn't get enough of.

Keaton is strong, she doesn't want to lose her humanity in this place, and her strength is what keeps her in trouble most of the time. But Noah and his seductive ways are wearing her down. Tearing down her defenses. Causing her to need and want him, only so he can break her further through cruel rejection. No matter how much she tries to understand him, and figure him out, she comes up empty. No matter how much she tries to be strong and deny him, she is falling for him, craving the man, and his touch.

Even as cruel and evil as Noah is, he does still try to protect Keaton from the other horrors in The House of Rebirth, Reven, and the "Henchmen" that serve Reven. But Keaton fights him at every turn, causing harsh and cruel punishments.

There was one major thing I figured out about half way through this book, but for the most part, the twists and turns kept me guessing. I loved the darkness of this book and the twisted mindfuckery.

The only thing that keeps this from being a 5 Star book is the ending. It was a lot of information to digest about the book all at once, everything came together but I had to keep going back into the book to find things they were referring to that didn't seem important at the time.

Review: Determined to Obey

Determined to Obey
Determined to Obey by C.J. Roberts

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Determined to Obey is the last in the Dark Duet series from Kid's POV.. it was just barely Meh.. kinda fell flat for me. 2.5 stars.. i wish we could give 1/2 stars. But i rounded it up to 3.

The Dark Duet Series is one of my favorites. One that has never really left my mind, and one I can recall easily, more so than just about any other Dark Erotica I've read, but I think the series would have been much better if Ms. Roberts had left Kid as a background character instead of trying to spin him off.. and making Caleb and Kitten secondary characters really wasn't a smooth move. They were too important to the Dark Duet series, even though it gave us a glimpse of what was going on in the background of the Dark Duet series, it really didn't add anything to it.

While the cover is beautiful, as are all the covers in this series, Ms. Roberts has a real talent for picking them, Kid looks like a 15 year old boy. He's suppose to be a (somewhat reluctant) member of a motorcycle club. The picture on the cover and the character in the story were hard to reconcile as the same person in my mind. He just looks too much like a young boy to me and that makes it hard for me to connect to that character. I know it's suppose to make us feel... protective(?) of Kid, but for me, I just kept imagining these things happening to a boy.

Felipe and Celia.. who are suppose to be Owner and slave come off as quite the opposite. They come of, in my opinion, as equals to each other or with Celia topping Felipe from the bottom. Who really runs *that* show?

So yes, for me, it would have been much better if Kid's story were just left to my imagination.

Satan's Property
Satan's Property by Celia Loren

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Book Cover ★★★★
Book Blurb ★★★★
Writing ★★★★

Ending ★★★
Heat Rating ★★★★★

Overall Rating 4 Stars

Great story that kept me absorbed and reading.

I did feel, towards the end, that things were a bit rushed, making some things not plausible, but that truly was overlooked because of the heart of the story.

Loved the characters, well, except for Rooster of course. What a sorry excused for a man! What kind of man would put his wife up for collateral to a rival MC, just to make a deal he never intends to honor? And right before turning his wife over he tells her that he never loved her.. Rooster is that kind of man.

Violet:

Violet seemed really sweet. She's Rooster's "Old Lady", and she really does try to continue loving him, even after he's turned into the worlds biggest jackass. Rooster has one thing in mind and that's running the Devil's Army, the MC that Violet's father helped to start, and running it *his* way. When Violet is given to the Satan's Sons, she is told that she is there to cook and clean, to be a "house mouse". She wasn't happy about it, but was resigned to her fate. She fell in easily with the rival MC.. that was a bit hard to believe at first, but as I got to know Violet, I could understand it.

Drifter:

Home from his last tour with the military, for good, he gets back into the club life, falling back into his place. He and Cherish have a "thing".. it's complicated and gets a lot more complicated once he sees Violet!

Cherish:

This girl just gave me all kinds of bad vibes, little sweet butt with an attitude, and a misconception.

Stephanie:

She seemed sweet, kind, and helful. She was accepting of Violet and seemed to respect her for the "Old Lady" that she was.

The other "Old Ladies":

Oh I loved them! They were very kind to Violet, even though they didn't have to be, (they also) respected her as an Old Lady of a club President, even though it was a rival club, they knew that she was there under duress.

The other "Brothers":

I really enjoyed the Satan's Sons, most of them were true to their club, their women, and each other. I'd love to read more about them, and I hope this will turn into a series.

Violet and Drifter are pretty hot together. Fun to get to know these characters, all of them actually. I felt connected with them. There were some pretty good twists, some were predictable some were not. So even though I felt the ending was a bit rushed, this was still a very enjoyable read.

Review: Irrevocable

Irrevocable
Irrevocable by Skye Callahan

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved this book! So well written and believable how it all happened.

I've heard of Skye Callahan, but had not had the opportunity to read any of her books. So when a friend who knows the types of books i enjoy, recommended this book, I couldn't pass it up! I've found a new favorite author to round out my list.

This book had some really dark and twisted turns that kept me actively interested in the characters. And even though, at times, I really wanted to smack Silver for her lack of appreciation of Kirk, I had to remind myself that if I were in that situation, I probably wouldn't have been very gracious either, even for the little things.

This book had a major OMG twist in it, and I just LOVE that in my books! And I sooo can't wait to discuss them with my friends! *That* is the mark of a great book!

A couple of my favorite lines from this book that actually gave me a laugh.

Silver talking about Kirk:

***Lucky me. I'd been claimed by the voice of reason within their fucked up world.

***And, as if things weren't fucked up enough, I was living with a criminal who made his bed.

(When she was in trouble, yet again)
***I watched him lube up the plug as i slowly ran my hands under the hot water. I couldn't tell if it was the vibrating on or not, and I shuddered at the thought of trying to cook with that thing having a fiesta in my ass.

The book, for the most part, is very serious, but some of the running monologue Silver has with herself has made me laugh out loud.

I put this on one of my shelves under Stockholm Syndrome, but that's kind of iffy for me. At first I really thought that was the case, but I'm not really sure it was. I'd be interested to read what others think about that.

4 Twisted Stars!

Don't underestimate Underestimated!

Underestimated (Underestimated, #1)Underestimated by Jettie Woodruff
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book. Yes. This book.

I loved it. I hated it. Ohhhh! I loved it!

The Drew, Morgan/Riley, Dawson, Lauren, and let's not forget Derik characters were an entanglement of characters that I won't soon forget!

You've read the blurb, you've read the reviews, but until you read the book you won't get the love/hate relationship most have with the characters in this story.

The way Jettie Woodruff spins this tale making you want to hold your book close right before throwing it across the room is unique.

The book is dark and disturbing. And Drew, oh how I hated him. He was a narcissistic, sadistic bastard with no redeeming qualities who tortured Morgan(/Riley) in the worst possible ways. Dawson was a wonderful man that took care of Riley(/Morgan) to the best of his abilities, considering all she'd been through, and much of it she couldn't tell him. Confused yet?

Lauren, she was one of my favorite characters. I love how she decided that she and Riley were going to be friends, no matter what Riley thought about it. Luckily Riley was all for it. Lauren was a good, dear friend. I loved how she'd just pop in, eat Riley's leftovers, make herself at home and made it her mission to find a man for Riley.

Morgan was Drew's wife. He was mean and vicious to her. She was finally able to escape (with help) and changed her identity. She became Riley. It was as Riley that she met Dawson. I was cheering for these two for the majority of the book, even though I felt that Dawson was a little judgmental about the things that Riley wanted and needed.

Riley and Dawson settled in to a comfortable (read that not exciting and non-descript) pattern. Riley *needed* more, but Dawson kept that pretty much tamped down. She thought she was, or could be, happy with that.

Until she ran into the back of a bus and lost her memory.

In walks Drew back into her life and Riley becomes Morgan again, even though she doesn't remember *who* Morgan really is, and she has even less memory of Riley.

It was from that point until towards the end that I wanted to shake n' break my Kindle!

When her memory comes back in a rush. She is then Morgan/Riley in a love triangle with Drew & Dawson. The woman couldn't make a decision if her life depended on it. Back and forth she went between both men. She and her vagina, that she had conversations with, were always open for business when it came to these two men.

Some of my favorite things she said about her vagina:

"The sight of him sent a quivering sensation straight to my attention deficit disorder vagina."

"I closed my eyes and visualized our love making on top of the world. Of course, my vagina had to go and stick her nose in it too."

"I think maybe my vagina was on break, pissed off, or just not interest in making love..."
(now there was a first cause her vagina was *always* interested in throwing out the welcome sign!)

All the back and forth, can't make a decision, sleeping with Drew, sleeping with Dawson... I think a few less of those would have been better. Again, my poor Kindle took the brunt of my frustrations as I proceeded to squeeze it so hard every time she went one way or the other, that it threatened to throw *itself* out the window!

But even with all of that, Ms. Woodruff pulled it all together into a nice neat little story. Without giving away any more than I may have already done, I didn't think I would be happy with Morgan/Riley's choice. But I found that I was. At the end I found myself satisfied.

This is a must read if you like dark non-con and it's a solid 4 star read for me. The only thing that keeps it from being a 5 star is I think it went back and forth too many times with Morgan/Riley's indecision. I am however looking forward to reading "Underestimated Too". I've already purchased the book and taken a sneak peek at the first chapter and it's already caught my attention!

**********
This past update says it all!

Past update: Review to come... but in the meantime..

I loved it but I wanted to slap the crap outta Morgan/Riley!!

Review: Slave World 2: The Ties That Bind

Slave World 2: The Ties That Bind
Slave World 2: The Ties That Bind by Johnny Stone

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Okay. Catching my breath! That. Was. Excellent!! Johnny Stone took the story of his first book in the Slave World trilogy so much further in this sequel, Slave World: The Ties That Bind, than I thought was possible.

This is a Science Fiction based story with elements of BDSM incorporated throughout.

Margo, as we know from book 1 of this story, is an anthropomorphic female. She was a woman that was enslaved and taken to Slave World where her DNA was altered along with her appearance. She now has the perfect body, the perfect face, perfect everything. She is given perfection, but at the same time has had everything taken from her.

Nathan, the love of Margo's life. The man she wants most in the world to be her Master. To use her as the submissive slave that she is. Nathan doesn't want to be that in her life. But he does try, for her. Because he loves her.

As Nathan and Margo are leaving the Slave World Ranch in search of Margo's ship that was stolen from her when she was kidnapped, even more treachery is afoot, and they are forcibly separated. I felt so much sadness for them. For Margo who lived and breathed for Nathan and for Nathan who wanted this woman in any and all ways. Again, the cruel hand of fate is not kind to Margo, which seems to be the story of her existence. She is again kidnapped and held against her will by someone that is even more evil and vile than Master Michael was in the first book.

But Margo has a very deep and dark secret, and it's this secret that she calls on in the worst of times. The secret within her that takes over and helps her survive. And I mean this in the literal sense of the word!

We get to meet new characters like, Sergeant Major James Wroth and Private Sandra "Snake" Fullerton, a.k.a. "Sandy". My two favorite fun characters! Wroth is a sexy and funny man, mostly sexy because he's funny! Sandy is a tough but broken woman who has demons of her own, but still finds time to throw some snarkiness right back at the man she loves to hate. When these two get together they are like dynamite with a very short, lit fuse. Anyone standing close is sure to feel the burn of sexual heat coming from these two. But they also work well together on this very important mission. I promise you'll fall in love with Wroth and his many "Wrothisms"! You'll also fall in love with how he and Sandy fall in love with each other.

And Cherise... sweet Cherise. She is Margo's caretaker for a while and then her friend. She is a sweet and kind self-aware AI, which can be a dangerous combination, but you come to believe that she's so much more than that.

There are other very interesting characters some you'll remember from the first Slave World, like Donna, Cirus, Ashley, and Donovan. There are some new and intriguing characters, and some will come as a surprise. There are other worlds, one, Eden, is full self-aware AI.

I absolutely, love, love, LOVED this book! It's a non-stop, can't put it down even if I wanted to, book. The characters are well written, the world building is so in-depth that you'll actually be able to visualize it as you read the words.

I can't go to much further in-depth in my review without giving away plot spoilers. This is one that you have to read for yourself to appreciate. And ohhh the best thing about the end of this story? It leaves you wanting MORE! And there is more to come in Slave World 3 which will conclude this trilogy.

Reading Slave World, the first book is a must before reading this sequel to get the background history on main characters in this carefully crafted world of extraordinary characters.

This book is another solid 5 star read for me!

Solid 5 stars!

Excerpt Excerpt Excerpt

I closed my eyes and tilted my head back, letting the hot jet of water beat against my face. God it felt good, the tension just seemed to flow out of me in a wave of relief down the drain. The multiple smaller jets oriented around the shower cubicle followed suit, pelting my body with a soapy mist. It had a neutral smell to it though – very mannish – it wasn’t even close to my normal fragrance. No big deal, I’ll just reprogram it later with something a bit more female friendly, something light and flowery. I’m sure Nathan will love that.

Nathan… I was going to have to do some serious butt kissing to make up for that outburst. I still don’t know what happened, one minute I was happy as hell to be flying again, looking forward to getting laid, and the next I was back in the cockpit of my Hornet 3 Interceptor evading fire. Things really got ugly after I returned to reality; I can’t believe I snapped at him like that.

The main jet of water dropped suddenly and I opened my eyes only to receive a blast in the face as it switched directions again, spraying up and over my head. I shrieked, covering my face with my hands when the other jets went crazy, attacking me. The main jet returned to a normal flow just as unexpectedly, and I stepped to the side eyeing it warily from between my fingers. “Piece of crap,” I muttered. We must have just cleared Slave World’s atmosphere and entered open space, and it always took a few moments for the artificial gravity to kick in and get the thing right again. Water on board ship was one thing that still never acted quite right; it would do strange things at times, moving this way or that, not sure which way to go. I seemed to have forgotten that little piece of information during my extended planet-side vacation.

Now that’s over… I took my place in the middle of the shower cubicle again, letting the steamy water blast my skin back into a rosy glow while I soaped up. It was therapeutic for me in a way, lathering up my tail, before moving on to my shoulder-length mane. After that, came my wonderful ears. I always washed in the same order, always. Not sure why, other than I did, like a simplistic ritual of compulsive leisure. And of course, once the more mundane parts were done it allowed me to move on to other areas, the parts I enjoyed washing more thoroughly than they really need most times. Since the first time I discovered sex as a young woman, I’d loved playing with myself, but after becoming a pony… My skin felt so soft and silky now, just like a baby’s butt, but everywhere. I’ll admit that enhanced collagen levels were an added bonus from my augmentation that I didn’t mind in the least.

Gentle, plump breast were the first to fall prey to my roving hands, and I pushed them together, enhancing my generous cleavage even more, while thinking about the last time Nathan tit fucked me. His dark pink cockhead thrusting up between them… his hand on my head, a fistful of hair, pulling my head forward… I opened my mouth… the warm splash of Master’s cum dribbling down my chin… I’d never been tit fucked before coming to Slave World – having a small chest kind of puts a damper on things like that.

The more I washed, with my hands gliding over flushed, slippery skin, the more I realized just how horny I was. My hunger for Nathan hadn’t gone away in the least with all the recent excitement, if anything, it had grown stronger. My nipples felt bloated with sensitivity, no different than my swollen clit. I gasped with an erotic shudder, as I leaned back against the shower wall, one leg cocked up and a hand between them. My pussy was in my palm, massaging my clit, seconds away from cumming on the two fingers that were knuckle deep within it. I was playing with myself again and didn’t even realize it.

I quickly pulled them out, nervously looking around, and took a deep breath trying to calm down while I finished rinsing. Good luck with that; my heart was pounding and my body felt like it was on fire. It didn’t take long; I was in a hurry, and I silently hoped Nathan wasn’t already in the bedroom waiting on me.

The dryer came next, buffeting me with warm gusts of air, and I ran my hands through my hair and tail to help the process along. I did sneak one last exploratory finger through my slit, smiling at how slick I still was. The shimmering finger vanished in my mouth with a heavenly moan. Mmmm… Sticky sweet sex candy, another wonderful result of my augmentation. Is it wrong to enjoy the taste of yourself? If it is, then I never want to be right.

OH! HELL YEAH!

A Wolf's DowryA Wolf's Dowry by Johnny Stone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holy Red Riding Hood, Wolf Man!

That was one HAWT read! I don't even know what else to say about it! I was with the author daily on this book (and Slave World: The Ties That Bind) listening to the changes that took place as the book took shape. Reading as He wrote it, bouncing ideas back and forth, watching it morph into something incredible. But to sit and read it in its completed format, start to finish after all the changes were complete... there are no words!

Johnny Stone has a fantastic imagination and He put it to good use with this book.

It's a story of Paula Redding, a Homicide Detective with a secret, a *big* secret. She's a werewolf and there's an Alpha Male in her territory and he's baiting her and she's more than ready to take that bait.

Duncan Patrick is that Alpha Male, and he's ready to add another bitch to his long line of females that he services in his territory. He baits her, leaving his scent for her to follow. And what a scent he has.

Add Martin "Marty" Jenks to the mix, Paula's human lover, the man she wants to marry and have a family with, and things start to get dicey for Paula.

Will she stay with her kind? Become the were-female bitch that Duncan commands that she be, or will her humanity, what's left of it, keep her from becoming the very thing she has sworn to protect the people of her territory from?

This is a must read, a quick and very, VERY hot read. Character development is dead on, and I was connected to them one by one. Losing a bit of my own humanity when the story turned very dark and sexual.

This book isn't for the faint of heart, it's dark, sexual, and violent in some parts. It's a wild ride and if you're looking for a quick PNRe to read during lunch, this is the perfect one for that... but beware, the sexuality and hotness factor of this book will have you wishing for a place to take a cold shower before heading back to work.

Solid 5 stars!

Here is an excerpt from A Wolf's Dowry:

Paula stared about in a daze one last time. Unbelievable… There was an Alpha Were marking women in her city, in her territory. That could only mean one thing- it was an invitation on his part. He was looking for a mate.

She glanced down at several of the sealed evidence bags on the hood of the victim’s car- one of them contained the shredded remains of a dark blue T-shirt. With a quick glance at both Jenks and the Sheriff’s men, Paula snatched it off the trunk, doing her best to shield it from stray eyes. A mile down the road she pulled over, eyeing it in the seat beside her. She licked her lips, chest heaving, unable to resist the urge any longer.

Paula tore the bag open with frantic haste, bringing the mangled shirt to her nose, drowning in its musky odor. She felt drunk, while tearing at the button fly of her jeans, rubbing the shirt across her cheek and neck. Anxious fingers dove beneath the hem of her panties, probing until they found the slick, engorged crack they sought. Her body convulsed with ragged gasps while greedy fingers attacked her clit. She could almost see him, like in her dreams, while dark and dangerous visions began to swirl and solidify in her mind. Just as in her dreams, she wanted him without reservations. She wanted things she never knew existed, as instinct coursed through her body, making it come alive in unimaginable ways. She wanted to dance to the tune of a mating Were for the first time in her life. She craved the experience the chase, before he slapped aside her resistance, proclaiming his dominance over her, taking her, fucking her like the beast she inherently was. Just the thought of being pinned helplessly beneath him…

Paula’s fingers moved faster, grinding almost painfully against her throbbing clit, while moans of frenzied pleasure rent the air-conditioned interior of her car. It wasn’t enough- she wanted more, she needed more, as her desires grew beyond the point of no return. Her hand eased over a gossamer-soft tuft of damp pubic hair, clutching tightly at gentle mound of her pussy with the palm of her hand. One finger moved deeper, pushing hungrily between silky lips. That was all it took.

Jolts of electric heat streaked through her body, followed by the trickling warmth of pungent fluid seeping between her fingers. She whined helplessly, unable to breath, pinching her thighs together in silent ecstasy, while biting at the shirt of a killer. The release left her shaking, with a glow in her cheeks after the tremors passed. She’d never felt anything so intense in her life, and that was just from his scent.

Paula had never found a man, if you could call an Alpha Were that, that she’d wanted to share herself so desperately with, so completely, so uninhibited as she did right now sitting in her car on a backwoods, gravel road. Not even Jenks, the man she loved and fully intended to marry one day, had ever made her feel so liberated during sex. All her plans, all her dreams of a family with him seemed inconsequential right now, vanishing in the blink of an eye, drowned beneath primal desires that she’d repressed her entire life.

“This can’t be happening,” Paula breathed heavily, looking around nervously, before stuffing the shirt shamefully back into the evidence bag. She was a Werewolf, and in heat, and the Alpha knew it- that’s why he’d come looking for her- or was there another female infringing on her territory again that she didn’t know about? The thought alone that some skanky, wandering bitch was trying to steal him away almost brought on a violent change.

The call of her blood couldn’t be ignored this time- not any longer. If she didn’t answer his summons another bitch would, or he would move on in search of another, and Paula wasn’t about to let that happen. She was going to mate, soon, and her life would change forever. It was inevitable at this point, and there was no way to avoid it- Paula didn’t want to avoid it. Maybe I am nothing more than an animal pretending to be human, she mused glumly, starting her car.

Move the Sun (Signal Bend, #1)Move the Sun by Susan Fanetti
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow. That is my first thought as I finished the book! Just. Wow.

An excellent story of love, hot sex, and intrigue! What a perfect combination!

This story was so much more than just another MC (motorcycle club) book. The characters come to life, you feel them, you want them to be happy, and the story unfolds perfectly and keeps you wondering what's going to happen next.

The unique thing about this book was the way the author would start a chapter by going back into the past of Lilli, the female lead. Starting when she was just 10 and her mother committed suicide. Then other chapters started out the same, moving back to something significant in Lilli's life that would tie in to the chapter. It may sound confusing, but trust me, it worked. And quite well!

The book kept me guessing as to who Lilli was and what she was doing in Signal Bend. I liked that, it kept me engaged and I could *not* put this book down!

I fell in love with Isaac he was a strong alpha male, but was also very kind and considerate to Lilli. They both knew there was *something* special about the other one. I especially liked the fact that the author didn't tear them apart. Lilli thought about it, but she knew she wanted Isaac as much as he wanted her. She knew he was the missing piece to the puzzle that was her life.

There was so much emotion in this book. From the incredibly hot sex to the tender holding of Lilli's hand while she was in a coma.

This book just *worked* from start to finish! I'm so looking forward to starting book 2!

This was a 5 star read for me!

Fantastic Follow-up!

Reaper's Legacy (Reapers MC, #2)Reaper's Legacy by Joanna Wylde
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Finally! A book with a strong heroin lead that isn't afraid to say what's on her mind, no matter how big the hero is! And Ruger is BIG! And he's intimidating and oh sooo sexy. I loved Sophie. She was refreshing and honest, a great mom, and best (or worst) of all, in love with Ruger!

I was so excited to hear that this book was finally coming out. I sat and devoured it in one day. I never do that, but this book was a page turner.

Oh! And the piercings! Ruger definitely had them from eyebrow to.. well.. yes even *there*! And he wasn't afraid to use a single one of them! And his tatts. Oh the tattoos and at the end when you find out what one particular tatt is, OMG I was stunned and fell in love with this sexy alpha male just a little bit more!

This book has it all, mayhem, murder, kidnapping, and love. It's a wild 90mph 2-wheel ride down a slippery mountain side getting to each of those, and the cherry on top of this wild ride is the fact that this book is sexy hot!

Outside of the main characters, Ruger and Sophie and all their hot sex, you have Noah, Sophie's son, who was fathered by Ruger's half brother, Zach. Zach is a dead beat dad and Ruger steps in to be the man in the boys life. Ruger loves Noah and the feeling is quite mutual. I loved that this hard ass biker, who is an arrogant, control freak, know it all (but really, in a hot sexy way!) could be such a wonderful father figure for Noah. That sealed the deal for me in my love of this character. Noah is the pint sized glue that holds the story of Ruger and Sophie together.

Sophie is living in a small run down apartment with Noah, a hard working single mom who is just trying to squeak out a living for her and her son. Zach, being the dead beat dad that he is, just stops paying child support, so there's no help there. She's moved hours away from Ruger, so he has no idea she's in such dire straits. Until a phone call from Noah who is frightened and scared at a new baby sitters house. The catalyst for Ruger and Sophie to begin their journey.

I enjoyed all the sub characters and plots in this book and can actually see openings for future books from some of them. We already know that Em and Hunter will have their own book, Devil's Game, which is up next. Would love to see a book on Picnic. And will poor Bolt ever get out of jail? You see quite a bit of Horse and Marie in this book too. Was nice to get a little bit of a fix from them!

So the big question was, can Ruger live up to a man called "Horse"? Ahhh, well now, you'll just have to run and get Reaper's Legacy to find out!

A solid 4 star read for me!

To Command and Collar Commands Attention!!

To Command and Collar (Masters of the Shadowlands, #6)To Command and Collar by Cherise Sinclair

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I LOVED this installment in this series. With each book Cherise Sinclair writes in this series you can see her writing style getting better and better. Much more timeline believable.

I fell in love with Master Raoul and Kimberly. His touching and caring ways in which he helped Kim in the beginning and the slow process of realizing he was in love with her, and loved her enough to possibly let her go.

Kimberly's trust, while fragile in the beginning, and throughout the first half of the book, she begins to slowly open up and trust again.

My favorite thing was when she was to show him, by holding up her fingers, what her fear was. The way he was so attuned to her body by studying her.

This book was just all around good, not to mention, hot and sexy to boot.

I'd *love* to see Sam get his own story, and with as much "page time" as he got in To Command and Collar, could that be a possiblity? I sure hope so!

Take a ride on the kinky side...

Slave WorldSlave World by Johnny Stone

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Johnny Stone is an author with a very vivid imagination, and he knows how to use it! Best of all, he can put it on paper to share with the rest of us.

Step outside of your ordinary reading comfort zone and fasten your seatbelt for a ride through the galaxy to a planet called Slave World, where slaves are bought and sold, and no fetish is too kinky.

Margo Winters is an Independent Freighter Pilot who, on a routine slave delivery, crash lands and her "freight" is let loose onto her ship. One of the escapees recognizes Margo, and knows she has a secret; it's this secret that he uses to change Margo's destiny. To condemn her to a life of slavery. Sold then bought by one of the sadistic owners of Slave World, Margo is then altered forever in a way she never imagined. Collared by the Master, Margo is then sent for training for her new role in this very bizarre world.

Fortunately, Colonel Nathan Burke, a man from her past, is her Trainer, and it's with his assistance that she not only survives, but comes to accept, and even embrace, her new existence.

There are many twists and turns in this story, all of which will leave you turning the pages faster and faster to see what happens next, all leading up to a very climactic ending.

A cast of very convincing characters, each that you will either love or hate, makes up this kinky story. The only thing that could make it better? A sequel!
