"Of all the things in life, love is the most confusing. The most all-consuming. The reason we breathe, the light in our darkness." --MarianaMariana has been "cooking the books" for her father, Marco, for most of her life, moving money around to pay his debts. But when Marco drives a truck full of cocaine right into the waiting arms of the American DEA, there is no amount of "book cookin'" that can save him from the wrath of Emilio Ross. Emilio and his thugs show up at Mariana's home in Columbia with the intent to kill the entire family, but Mariana is taken to pay the debt instead.

You know what they say about extraordinary times? They call for extraordinary measures." --EmilioEmilio is the leader of the El Sangue Cartel, and he doesn't take losing a large shipment of cocaine very well. But taking Mariana will ease the pain of it... he can sell her into sexual slavery and recoup some of his loss. Emilio deals in drugs, guns, and human trafficking, and Mariana is his new target.
It was a dangerous proposition, to be falling in love with a woman who is owned by the cartel. --DornanDornan is Emilio's son and the VP of the Gypsy Brothers Motorcycle Club, and his reputation precedes him as a man even more lethal than Emilio, if that's even possible.
"Dornan respected his father, but if the right person came along and wanted to take Emilio out, Dornan would probably load the bullets into the gun and hand it to them himself."Unfortunately, at this point, he doesn't see that any such person has come along. And Dornan, in order to keep Mariana safe, has to endure under the thumb of his suffocating father.

"Dornan often had to remind him that his role as president was largely symbolic; he was not the one in charge."John is the character i fell in love with from the beginning, he's Dornan's best friend and President of the Gypsy Brothers. It's in title only (for both of them) since they flipped a coin to see who would be President and VP. They wanted the Gypsy Brothers to be a club that traveled the roads, and had each other's backs, not a gang. But when Dornan's girlfriend got pregnant and John's younger sister needed cancer treatments that were beyond his read financially, and Emilio caught up to them... the "club" officially became a "gang".
First Touch by Laurelin Paige****4 Touch Me Stars!****

I've had this book on my TBR Shelf for quite some time now. Kept meaning to read it, but just never got to it. Then it came up for one of my challenges on my group, and watching my friends comments, I knew I had to read it. And so I did.I'd Set out to capture him and instead he'd captured me. I couldn't fight it. It was done.
Reeve and Emily... I had a love/hate relationship with them both. But when they came together (yes, that's a double entendre), it was pretty hot! And explosive! (another double entendre).
When Emily thought to herself, "the dominating bad boy type was my weakness", I could totally get behind that... and it was the turn around for me with Reeve. He was the "bad boy", and he became my "weakness" pretty damn quick!
The scene in the barn... read the book, you'll totally get it... was probably one of my favorite erotic scenes *ever* in a book! Sex scenes, sometimes I feel they are just thrown into a book for the sake of sex. I know that in order for a book to be in a certain genre (erotica in this case), that it has to have... well... sex! in it. And often. But most of the sex in this book was well placed, it made sense, the timing was perfect, and it was hot!
Fervent by Gemma James
Rampant by Gemma James
This book picks up right where book one ended, and the darkness level has definitely been turned WAY up in book 2 of this series!
"Rafe was dead. Last night I'd lived a dream, so vivid I could still feel him against me. But I'd never feel him again. Never hear his voice, his laughter. Never breathe in the musk of his skin, feel the sweat of his brow at my breasts. Never again lose my breath to the vice of his hands around my throat. I'd give anything to get that back, even if giving up control terrified me." - AlexAlex thinks Rafe is dead, and she's being held prisoner by her step-brother, Zach, who fancies himself in love with little sister. Zach is so twisted, and Ms. James really knows how to get into the character's head, in turn getting the character into the reader's head.
"Nighttime always hit hard, when the dark wee hours of morning choked me with loneliness" - AlexZach drugs Alex with Ecstasy and rapes her, brutally, marking her body as his, and her only escape to to think of Rafe, which becomes her downfall.

4 *Sociopathic* Stars

With one hand, Knox giveth... but it's with *both* hands, and whatever happens to be in his hands, that he taketh away.
"It entertains me to watch you think I care what you want, that I actualy care anything about you at all. It amuses me to manipulated your emotions, to see how much I can give you before I rip it all away again."

Lacey relizes how sick and twisted Knox is, but even though he tells her she has a choice, she doesn't really, she's made a deal with the devil, and there is no backing out now.
"He delights in tormenting me, but I now bask in that torment, I crave his brutality more than I crave the gasping breath I take in to fill my lungs."

Oooooh... I don't like this chick! She's around just enough in the book to mess with your head. The secrets she has, from everyone, including her father, make her the worst kind of sociopath.. the kind that are hiding right in front of your face.
"...it's the Christian thing to do. That's who I am. That's what I've based my public image on. My faith and my humanitarianism have made it possible for the public to love me, to trust me, to see nothing else but what i choose to show them."

I Know What Love Is by Whitney BiancaElliot was just a nutcase. A totally whacked out nutjob. But I have to give it to him, he knew what he wanted, and nothing stopped him from going after it. He was a man of patience when it came to Joan.
"The worst monsters are the ones that don't look like monsters, because they fool you into complacency with their beauty."

Her Master's Teacher by Lily White"She used her natural talents to adorn the success, wealth and status he'd attained. She was not just a slave to his desires, but and acquisition that was adored. Once the courtesan learned that fact, she was set free in her sexuality."

"Life was a cruel thing and no matter what you plan, it doesn't always turn out the way you expected in he end. I'd been careful in life. Almost too careful and it felt like I'd wasted so much time working towards something that would eventually have no meaning. I should have been out with friends. I should have been falling in love. I should have been doing the things I would never have the opportunity to do since I'd been thrown into this room, left to wither away like a dying flower."
"My name is Holland Strong and at 21 years old, I'm the youngest man training to be a Master within a scoiety of wealthy and influential men. My training began early and I'm considered a potential savant within the society."
"If a person is able to understand the mechanics of how Stockholm works, a person can take steps to prevent it from occurring within them if they find themselves in an abusive or captive situation."
