Great story that kept me absorbed and reading.

I did feel, towards the end, that things were a bit rushed, making some things not plausible, but that truly was overlooked because of the heart of the story.

Loved the characters, well, except for Rooster of course. What a sorry excused for a man! What kind of man would put his wife up for collateral to a rival MC, just to make a deal he never intends to honor? And right before turning his wife over he tells her that he never loved her.. Rooster is that kind of man.

Violet:

Violet seemed really sweet. She's Rooster's "Old Lady", and she really does try to continue loving him, even after he's turned into the worlds biggest jackass. Rooster has one thing in mind and that's running the Devil's Army, the MC that Violet's father helped to start, and running it *his* way. When Violet is given to the Satan's Sons, she is told that she is there to cook and clean, to be a "house mouse". She wasn't happy about it, but was resigned to her fate. She fell in easily with the rival MC.. that was a bit hard to believe at first, but as I got to know Violet, I could understand it.

Drifter:

Home from his last tour with the military, for good, he gets back into the club life, falling back into his place. He and Cherish have a "thing".. it's complicated and gets a lot more complicated once he sees Violet!

Cherish:

This girl just gave me all kinds of bad vibes, little sweet butt with an attitude, and a misconception.

Stephanie:

She seemed sweet, kind, and helful. She was accepting of Violet and seemed to respect her for the "Old Lady" that she was.

The other "Old Ladies":

Oh I loved them! They were very kind to Violet, even though they didn't have to be, (they also) respected her as an Old Lady of a club President, even though it was a rival club, they knew that she was there under duress.

The other "Brothers":

I really enjoyed the Satan's Sons, most of them were true to their club, their women, and each other. I'd love to read more about them, and I hope this will turn into a series.

Violet and Drifter are pretty hot together. Fun to get to know these characters, all of them actually. I felt connected with them. There were some pretty good twists, some were predictable some were not. So even though I felt the ending was a bit rushed, this was still a very enjoyable read.

Review: Ruthless Flight

Ruthless Flight
Ruthless Flight by Kathryn Hunter

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

WOW... what a quick, hot read. Read this with my morning coffee and now I think I need a drink!

While this book was short, only 16 pages, it jumped right in to the story. It definitely left me wanting more, more, MORE! t

This story really has the basis of being a great novel. What happened *after* the flight when Davis actually meets her Master? I *need* to know! Will there be more? Is this just a prologue to more? I certainly hope so.

Warning: Not a book to just casually read while sitting at your desk.. you *will* squirm!

Only the shortness and cliffhanger keep this from being a 5 star read for me.

Review: Marked By The Vampire

Marked By The Vampire
Marked By The Vampire by Cynthia Eden

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A sexy PNRe read with hot vampires and werewolves? Oh my! Loved the first book in this series, and the second did not disappoint!

"These aren't some romantic, sweet, glittering vampires." -Pate

This book had it all, vampires, werewolves... and something else. Something that was new to me. Nope, not gonna tell ya! This is a must read to find out!

The sex was hot, the humor was funny, and the tension was... well, pretty intense sometimes! I loved the inner monologue in the main character's heads, and between them.. this book made me laugh a few times at just the right times. Timing is everything. Eight?!

Dr. Olivia Maddox goes to Purgatory to study the vampires and werewolves within those walls to find out what it is that causes certain members of these species to turn into bloodthirsty murders.

Shane August, an undercover FBI Agent, is sent on assignment to Purgatory to infiltrate the vampire clan. He's an ancient, and the strongest of the strong when it comes to vampires. He needs to find out exactly what is going on in Purgatory.

What Shane finds there instead is Olivia, and his whole world is turned upside down, literally. She is like nothing he's ever known in his thousands of years of living, and all he knows is he must have her... before she completely blows his cover!

All she knows is that, *that* will never happen.

Or will it?

"She'd just feel much better about all of this if she had a stake in her hand." -Olivia

I can't wait until Book 3 in this series comes out! Cynthia Eden is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors in this particular genre!

These books are stand alone, but i don't think you'll want to miss the first in this series, The Wolf Within, since a lot of the characters from that book play a part in this one, but it's not absolutely necessary. You won't feel like you've missed something if you only read this one.

Review: Irrevocable

Irrevocable
Irrevocable by Skye Callahan

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved this book! So well written and believable how it all happened.

I've heard of Skye Callahan, but had not had the opportunity to read any of her books. So when a friend who knows the types of books i enjoy, recommended this book, I couldn't pass it up! I've found a new favorite author to round out my list.

This book had some really dark and twisted turns that kept me actively interested in the characters. And even though, at times, I really wanted to smack Silver for her lack of appreciation of Kirk, I had to remind myself that if I were in that situation, I probably wouldn't have been very gracious either, even for the little things.

This book had a major OMG twist in it, and I just LOVE that in my books! And I sooo can't wait to discuss them with my friends! *That* is the mark of a great book!

A couple of my favorite lines from this book that actually gave me a laugh.

Silver talking about Kirk:

***Lucky me. I'd been claimed by the voice of reason within their fucked up world.

***And, as if things weren't fucked up enough, I was living with a criminal who made his bed.

(When she was in trouble, yet again)
***I watched him lube up the plug as i slowly ran my hands under the hot water. I couldn't tell if it was the vibrating on or not, and I shuddered at the thought of trying to cook with that thing having a fiesta in my ass.

The book, for the most part, is very serious, but some of the running monologue Silver has with herself has made me laugh out loud.

I put this on one of my shelves under Stockholm Syndrome, but that's kind of iffy for me. At first I really thought that was the case, but I'm not really sure it was. I'd be interested to read what others think about that.

4 Twisted Stars!

A Lil Less Broken

A Lil' Less Broken (The Kingsmen, #1)A Lil' Less Broken by Tara Oakes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

*I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

I really enjoyed this story! My only complaint is I'm not a fan of cliffhangers and this one caught me completely off guard.

The story is engaging and I connected with the characters right away... and stayed connected throughout the entire story. This book stayed true to the whole MC genre that I enjoy. And the sex was pretty hot!

Jay was rough and tumble and sweet and sexy and he pulled it all off very well. That was a major bonus for me.

This isn't your typical boy meets girl, they fall in love, yada, yada, yada.. it's more than that. Jay and Lil have a history. They met when they were younger, (although Jay was a bit older than Lil), and due to an unpleasant misunderstanding, Lil ran. She stayed gone for quite some time, until circumstances brought Jay back in to her life. The love between these two is evident and just made me love the characters more.

They don't just pick up where they left off, they both have to work for it, and it's worth the wait. I enjoyed Lil going back to the past in the book, telling us what lead up to certain events. Not something I normally enjoy, but when an author gets it right, as Ms. Oakes did, it can enhance the story instead of hinder it.

Overall, this was an sweet, quick, sexy, enjoyable read, and I'm looking forward to part two, due out in October 2014... which can't get here soon enough!

A Lil' Less Broken (The Kingsmen, #1)A Lil' Less Broken by Tara Oakes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Complete review to come.

I'm hooked at only 20% in!

From speaking with the author, I thought this was going to be a bit softer than what I normally read in an MC book. But I'm over the top happy! What a great MC book, exactly what I love to read in this genre!
